The main thing this course does is teach how to let users upload images and video files and then manipulate those files at a pixel level with JavaScript. This is useful information and despite the simplicity of the material it serves as a good launching point for really interesting projects. There are many more things that could be said on this topic, for example how to write long-running scripts that won't lock the interface (emulating threads with timeouts), saving manipulated images and videos, etc. At a mere hour in length, I'd recommend this course for anyone thinking about creating experimental visual demos but unsure of where to begin.
